About The Scruffy Accountant

I've spent the last 20 years helping businesses understand their finances.  In 2010, I started my own accountancy practice, growing it to support more than 800 clients and a team of 16. I sold the business in 2025 because I wanted to get back to working closely with a smaller group of clients, really getting to know their businesses and having the time to make a difference.

I understand the pressures of managing cash flow, looking after a team and making decisions without always having all the information you need. These days, I use that experience to help SMEs make better-informed decisions through accurate, timely and useful management information.

 

I'm FMAAT qualified and my approach is practical, straightforward and no-nonsense. I deliberately work with a small number of businesses, so clients only deal with me and I have the time to properly understand what's happening behind the numbers.

I work remotely using cloud-based systems, giving businesses flexible financial support wherever they're based.

Outside of work, I live deep in the Hampshire countryside with my husband and our two dogs. You'll usually find me walking the dogs, jogging through the woods or catching up with family and friends at the local pub. In 2025, I fulfilled my lifelong dream to run the London Marathon.
